You know when people say I can't do that today Rain check. Why did they call it a rain check Because when you go somewhere and it starts raining, they say here's a coupon. come back tomorrow. Who does that? That's the red sock to do that. They do not. No, they don't. We have actually sat in the game with the rain. That's what you did with me last. Mother's Day made me sit at the Boston Red Sox in the rain. Wow, You have some very interesting ways to get to your point. In 2012, this happened. Let me find a nice way to remind her how come I could get a rain check that day I Can't believe this. Remember that time it was snowing outside. Why do people call them shovels? Remember because when it snows you must shove it. Or remember that time you shoved me down the stairs and I fell. You reminded me that you pushed me in 2013. a kind of a crazy crazy way. Are you trying to remind people to go from here? Man, close the windows on this nonsense.

    Technically TRID is right
“The term originated in baseball in the 1800s. Spectators who attended games that were postponed or canceled because of weather could receive a check to attend a future game at no extra charge.”- Investopedia

Actually, without knowing it, Trid actually did come up with the exact origins of the term rain check. Baseball teams would issue "rain checks" back in the day when a game was cancelled so people could come back on a latter day when it wasn't raining.

That is the origin of the word.

He’s actually not wrong. A “Rain Check” is an old sports term, where you are issued a voucher for a replacement ticket because the ball field would become a muddy mess, making the game nearly impossible to continue.
Later, stores started offering “rain checks” for sale items that ran out the sale ended, letting the customer come back when it was restocked and still benefit from the sale price.
They did this generally to avoid any risk of an SEC investigation for “bate and switch”. Because some unscrupulous salesmen would advertise a “Scratch n Dent special” and deep discounts on the merchandise, but when the bargain hunters came looking, “sorry, that one sold yesterday. But I have another model just like it in pristine condition right over here.”

They only ever give rainchecks when games are actually canceled due to rain, not just whenever it rains. If a hurricane hits, you might get a raincheck.
